Ten commandments of the wise beer drinker

1. 1 Never enter a pub without money
2. 2 Don’t drink beer on an empty stomach
3. 3 Drink beer in moderation and savour it
4. 4 If the pub is empty, run
5. 5 A beer glass must be cold and clean
6. 6 Drink your beer cold
7. 7 Smile at the staff — they are at work while you are enjoying yourself
8. 8 If the staff frown and you wait forever, better leave
9. 9 When paying, add a little extra so the staff looks forward to your next visit
10. 10 Go to the pub in pairs and leave in pairs. Be a human, not a wild beast
